Well, this year has been a really quick year for me, and for all of us. Haha it hasn’t really been the perfect year for me, but what can I say, I enjoyed it anyway. :)
Let me just take some time off to reflect on my swimming form this year. I have really enjoyed the company when I was with Coach Tian while she was still in the club, with my gang and all that. In terms of training I never allowed her style of training to bring me down especially when I fell and sprained my ankle one month before the SNAG in March. That was the most glorious and memorable moment to remember, because I still did a five-star performance without a fit ankle to kick with, and hence received a 16GB iPod Touch as a reward (: Since I use it everyday, it’ll always bring me flashbacks of that glorious occasion.
Overall, I feel that this year I have dug deeper into my ‘true’ swimming events, consisting of longer distances. Although my true form hasn’t been unleashed yet, like last year, I certainly hope that it’ll come back next year. (:
Studying in Poly so far has really occupied more than half of my weekly schedule, of course not for the vacation! Haha, I took the opportunity during my first Poly vacation to train hard enough for the IVP in October. And the hard work really paid off, although I didn’t expect to swim seven events in two days. but I still came home with two medals and a hat-trick of PBs. (: Not bad, not bad. I hope to do it again next year haha.
Life at home’s not the same anymore, not without my dog, which passed away in May. He stood by me for 13 long years and watched me grow up from a young boy to a young man, from a child in the wading pool, to a competitive swimmer in the first team. And from a kindergarten kid, to a Poly student. Sigh, those were the days indeed. Without him it’s much quieter now, but there’s no stopping our valued guests from entering the house, excluding cockroaches. Haha…
Ever since my aunt passed away on Friday the 13th of February, I had plenty of visions of her, alive and kicking etc. She even appeared in my dreams before the IVP swimming competition and after my 1500m race deficit, and “promised” me that everything would be alright after that. And really that was a “promise” kept. :D
Also, this year I have seen a many landmark celebrities pass away. Like Michael Jackson, oh well… the poor guy really. I really was a crazy fan of his when I was a kid. I really think the last concert killed him.
Anyway… I really enjoy meeting up with a lot of new friends this year, hope to meet some more next year. :) Thanks for giving me a chance to be your friend, you guys rock. :) Proud of you.
Oh well, so I end my post here. Here’s to a HAPPIER YEAR AHEAD! :D
