Forecast for my Birthday Month

Hello! Sorry for not updating my blog for a very long while. Oh well, there’s been nothing much for me to write about anyway. But for now, I’ll just update this with what’s going to happen to me this month.

Birthday month!

So welcome to the month of August, my birthday month! I’m only just 2 weeks away from starting a Chapter 17 in my life story. The aura of celebration just dawned upon me yesterday. It is a new month, a month after a few ups and downs in the previous month. I have always been on shall we say, stand-by mode since there were no major events taking place last month.

Swimming

Since the Singapore Open back in June, I’ve been pretty uncertain of what other swimming competition to look forward to besides maybe Inter-varsity which is more than 2 months away from now. I haven’t been really training that hard for the month or so, since I have been staying back in school trying to finish my assignments, projects, and attending remedial lessons.

Because I cannot make it for Monday training with the club these days, I have to show my face to the swim team (mandatory). Down there in the very warm pool, I swim my own devised program which is two times the mileage of the normal swim program in school. But I still manage to train for an average of like 6-7 sessions anyway, for last month. Maybe I should just concentrate on my studies for now.

So many people including the swim team coach in my school have been bugging me to take up Life-Saving or Triathlon as another CCA to boost my chances of getting a CCA Gold Award. I was like “Holy cow, it’s like an award to die for…”, if you know what I mean. But one thing’s for sure, I’d rather go for club training.

School + Exams

Last month, I was pretty impressed with my DFUND1 lab test results, got an 18/20 for it. I guess this finally compensates for my theory upsets. Likewise for my EFFCOM Writing test, 14/15. (: And finally, my EMATH Quiz 2, 17/20.

But right now, it’s going to be hell of a busy, but a less dull month than the previous. Study week is in two weeks, which means no school and a more or less ‘isolation’ week before the exams in the following week. Ironically my birthday week also falls on the study week. That means no school on that week! How impressive!

Dad’s beef-noodle business

Also on this month, I predict that my dad’s beef noodle business will improve sharply. I never thought the impact of the media was massive. My dad' started to sell an average of 100 bowls from about 50-60 in the previous month. So really, I must praise the media for helping to extend the queue, hence making my dad gain more profit and credit. That “Buzzing Cashier 2” episode on Channel 8 which featured my dad’s stall on the 20th last month really made a great deal with the viewers on air.

So yeah, that’s about it for now. Until the next time, goodbye and good luck.
